subject
This semester I had a lot of subjects that I
really like and enjoy, but I think that “Imagen y Sociedad” is the one that I like
the most.
“Imagen y Sociedad” is a subject that studies
the role of images as a message transmitter and how society gives them different
meanings depending on certain time and cultures beliefs.
One of the reasons I like this subject is because
in our times and as a generation, we are part of a visual culture where
everything we say or think it has to have an image to represent it. Actually,
more than a 70% of the information that we receive in one day is delivered through
our vision. So, I’m into this topic, because
of the power and impact that images have in our life.
Over the course of the semester, we have been studying
different types of images, as religious, iconic, symbolic, and more.
To evaluate this course, we have weekly
activities where we have to apply all the contents we had seen in class, and
also, we do little essays and presentations based in specifics topics that are previously
selected by us.

ResponderEliminarI had that class last year with Rafael Del Villar, the truth was quite strange, I could not say if I really learned something.
I had that subject with another name, but I think is really important and interesting because, as you said, we live in a visual culture.
ResponderEliminarThat class is very fun, I think my teacher was mateos and it was quite nice.
